FALL 2008 UPDATE

Leaf Program Reminder

The Madison Village Road Department cannot pick up leaves that are piled along the roadside. Residents are asked to bag your leaves in large paper yard waste bags. Plastic bags will not be accepted.

Paper yard waste bags can be purchased at locations such as:

Do-It-Best Hardware, Wal-Mart, Home Depot or Lowe’s.

The Road Crew will only pick up paper bags full of leaves. Please place the bagged leaves near the road edge. The recycled leaves will be taken to local nurseries and used as compost.

Weather permitting, leaf pick up will be held Oct 1st  – Nov 17th.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Brush/ Stick Pick-up

Unfortunately, Madison Village cannot afford to provide a fall stick pick-up program. If you had brush or sticks that came down during the September 15th wind storm, we encourage you to use the Madison Township drop-off site.

The Madison Township Chipper drop-off site is located at 1747 Hubbard Road (near the Road Garage). The site will be open, weather permitting, on the following dates:

FIRST AND THIRD SATURDAY MORNINGS

May 3rd through October 18th, 2008

9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

SECOND AND FOURTH WEDNESDAY EVENINGS

May 14th through October 22nd, 2008

3:00 p.m. -  7:00 p.m.

Used Appliance Pick-Up

Madison Village continues to offer free appliance pick-up for our residents. We can help if you have a stove, freezer, washer, dryer or refrigerator that needs removed. Simply contact Village Hall with your name, address, phone number and type of item (CALL 428-7526).

Items must be placed at the tree lawn. The Village road crew will pick-up the appliance on the next regular business day. Funds generated from this project will be used toward the maintenance and improvements of our local streets. The program will be offered through October 31, 2008.

Thank you,

Mayor Robert F. Lee
